Located in downtown Covington, KY at the intersection of Tobacco and Electric Alley, Wenzel is a resurrection of Kentucky’s rich bourbon history, and the inaugural Proprietors’ Blend is no exception.
This limited release of 150 bottles is the first whiskey to be blended in Covington since Prohibition, a milestone we discovered in a building that used to be a rectifier (non-distilling producers) for whiskey before Prohibition.
To honor the building's past, we took the same recipe and let history repeat itself – purchasing whiskey from various distilleries around the US and then “rectifying” it to create a taste profile that would meet customers’ tastes and standards. A real full-circle moment for us, blending this benchmark small batch of straight bourbon whiskey together for the first time, reinstates the time-honored industry in our building’s 150th year, and in the city we love.
